On December 15, 2011 the ANA Troop Medical Clinic at Camp Zafer was officially opened.  The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Nasser Ahmadi, President of Omran Holding Group. Special guests included ANA General Shahzada (Commander Zafer), USA Major General Cox (Transatlantic Division Commander), USAF Colonel Wham (Transatlantic South Commander) and members their staffs.,.

Mr. Ahmadi of Omran welcomed General Cox of USACE and General Shahzada of ANA Zafar Camp and presented the Troop Medical Clinic to General Mangal, the 207th Zafar ANA Garrison Commander.  Mr. Ahmadi expressed his appreciation for US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) support to Omran during the design and construction of the clinic for the ANA soldiers. He pointed out some of the challenges Omran personnel experienced during the construction of the facility and thanked the office and field staff for their hard work in bringing about a quality end product for the client and the end users. He also expressed his gratitude to the USACE for their trust in Afghan companies and for their providing Afghans with the opportunity to grow and take active part in the reconstruction effort of the country. This type of work indeed, he said, elevate human resource capacity of Afghanistan and help Afghans grow their businesses. 

General Cox of USACE expressed his satisfaction over the quality of work produced by the partnership between Omran and USACE.  He stated that “their (Omran) engineering capabilities are exactly what is needed for the country and the region.” He was happy that such work was done by Afghan experts and that Omran’s work is exemplary.

General Shahzada appreciated USACE for their support and funding of the project. He briefed the importance of such work for the ANA Garrison and thanked Omran for the quality workmanship and pledged to maintain the outstanding facility.

The clinic is an 865 square meters building constructed within 9 months. The clinic is designed for 95 patients on emergency basis which includes emergency ward, dental section, X-ray, 8 doctors’ offices, laboratories, pharmacy, dining hall, waiting room, nurse’s room, and central air conditioning/heating systems.
