Located in Atal 205th ANA Garrison in Kandahar, the New ANA Hospital Addition was awarded to Omran Holding Group in August 2010. At an opening ceremony held in the Kandahar ANA Base on Monday May 30, 2011, the new ANA Hospital addition was handed over to the USACE-AED South. Meanwhile the ANA Surgeon General, Maj. Gen. Abdul Qayoum Totakhil along with General Dr. Smith of ISAF and an array of government, U.S. Armed Forces, NATO, the Coalition officials and representatives from Omran Holding Group attended the ribbon cutting program at Hospital where Maj. Gen. Abdul Qayoum Totakhil cut the ribbon. Immediately after the ribbon cutting ceremony the officials and entourage proceeded to the new ANA Hospital Addition for inspection.
After a brief inspection, the officials who attended the program headed to the conference hall where the speakers pointed out the importance of medical facilities on the ANA, the ANA Troops and the community. The overall size of the hospital addition is 5600 square meter including the parking lot. The facility includes a 60 bed hospital equipped with air circulation and air handling units, fully automatic fire oppression system, electrical and backup generator, water supply and sanitary system, bed head unites installed on every bed, public address and nurse call system, laundry and dry washing units. The facility also includes a kitchen and a modern DFAC.
The facility was handed over to the client on time and within budget to their full satisfaction, making them proud before the community elders, provincial council representatives, NATO and the Coalition, and US Armed Forces attending the ceremony.
